It shall be the responsibility of the owner of private property
to mark and maintain markings on the fire lanes in accordance with
N.J.A.C. 5:18-3.3(1) and any amendments thereto. The failure of an
owner of private property to comply with the provisions of N.J.A.C.
5:18-3.3(1) shall be a violation of this chapter.
It shall be a violation of this chapter to park a motor vehicle
in, or otherwise to obstruct, a fire lane. Enforcement shall be by
the Construction Code Official with direction from the Fire Official.
Upon conviction for violation of any provision of this chapter
the maximum penalty shall be one or more of the following: a fine
not to exceed $1,000, imprisonment in the county jail for a period
not to exceed 90 days, and/or a period of community service not to
exceed 90 days. Each and every day upon which a violation of any provision
of this chapter exists shall constitute a separate violation.
