[Article 32, voted in the affirmative 3-12-1977 by the Annual Town Meeting, read in
the warrant as follows: "To see if the Town will vote to require any
promoter who wishes to sponsor any activity that may cause an excess
amount of noise and/or inconvenience to any resident of the Town of
Hudson, N.H., to obtain a written permit from the town Selectmen.
The Selectmen should issue such a permit only after receiving proof
that said promoter carries liability insurance adequate for the specific
case. Also, a public notice of at least two weeks must be given to
allow residents the opportunity to respond and a written report from
the building inspector must be provided insuring that the site of
the proposed activity is suitable, with minimum sanitary and safety
requirements having been met. Only after the above requirements have
been met, and any further requirements deemed necessary by a majority
of the Selectmen for order and safety have been met, shall a written
permit be granted." It was amended, prior to the vote, to
delete the words: "such as rock concerts, auto or motorcycle racing,
carnivals, etc."]
