The Committee for the Environment would be comprised
of 11 members to be appointed by the Board of Trustees who shall serve
terms of three years, each term to expire at the end of the official
year of the Village, except for the initial appointments, where three
shall be appointed to serve for three years, two shall be appointed
to serve for two years, and two shall be appointed to serve for one
year. The members of the Committee shall serve without compensation.
The Chairperson of the Committee shall be appointed by the Board of
Trustees and shall serve as Chairperson for the duration of his or
her term. Any vacancy on the Committee shall be filled for the unexpired
term in the same manner in which the original appointment was made.
The Committee for the Environment shall meet
and confer with the Board of Trustees and the Village Manager (or
his designee) and submit comments and recommendations on issues to
the Board of Trustees for its consideration.
A member of the Board of Trustees shall be appointed
to serve as liaison to the Committee.

The Committee will comply with the requirements of the Open
Meetings Law of the State of New York (Public Officers Law § 100
et seq.), even if that law does not apply because the Committee is
acting in an advisory capacity.
