The intent of the Board of Trustees of the Village of Lake Placid is to increase the terms of office of the Mayor and the Trustees from two years to four years.
After the effective date of this chapter, the terms of office of the Mayor and the Trustees of the Village of Lake Placid will be increased from two years to four years.
The office for which the terms are extended shall be filled for terms of four years commencing at the beginning of the official year following the next Village general election at which such offices are to be filled.

The intent of the Board of Trustees of the Village of Lake Placid is to limit the Mayor and the Trustees of the Village of Lake Placid to holding office for no more than three consecutive four-year terms or six consecutive two-year terms or, in the case of Trustees whose terms expire in the year 2000, a consecutive combination of one four-year term, one three-year term and two additional four-year terms.
The Mayor and the Trustees of the Village of Lake Placid shall hold office for not more than three consecutive four-year terms or six consecutive two-year terms or, in the case of Trustees whose terms expire in the year 2000, a consecutive combination of one four-year term, one three-year term and two additional four-year terms.
The first terms of office which shall be counted toward three consecutive four-year terms or six consecutive two-year terms or, in the case of Trustees whose terms expire in the year 2000, a consecutive combination of one four-year term, one three-year term and two additional four-year terms, shall be the terms of office filled at the March 1996 Village general election.
