An advisory board, to be known as the "Silver Spring Township Business Advisory Board," is hereby created and shall continue to function until this chapter is revoked.

The Business Advisory Board shall be composed of nine members, who shall be residents of the Township or individuals who own businesses located in the Township.
Board members shall be appointed in accordance with the following procedures:
A. 
All Board members shall be appointed by the Board of Supervisors of Silver Spring Township.
B. 
Board members' terms of office shall expire on the first Monday in January following the last year of their term of office.
C. 
Duly appointed Board members shall serve a term of three years, except that initial appointment shall be so staggered that the terms of approximately 1/3 of the membership shall expire each year.
Board members shall receive no compensation for their services but may be reimbursed for the expenses actually and necessarily incurred by them in the performance of their duties.

The Business Advisory Board shall act in an advisory capacity to and shall coordinate its activities with the elected officials, Planning Commission, Recreation Advisory Council, and other such local and regional governmental agencies.
The Board of Supervisors shall designate the Chairman of the Board.
The Business Advisory Board shall have the following powers:
A. 
Identify business problems.
B. 
Recommend plans and programs to the appropriate agencies for the promotion of business within the area of this municipality.
C. 
Make recommendations as they relate to business in this municipality.
D. 
Undertake such tasks related to business in Silver Spring Township requested by the governing body of this municipality.
The Business Advisory Board shall keep records of its meetings and activities and shall make an annual report, which shall be printed in the annual municipal report or otherwise made known and available.
The governing body of this municipality shall, from time to time, appropriate funds for the expenses incurred by the Board.
