This chapter shall be known as a "Local Law Amending and Superseding
the Application of Village Law § 3-300 to the Office of
Election Inspector of the Village of Weedsport."
It is the purpose of this local law to amend and supersede the
application of Village Law § 3-300 to the office of Election
Inspector of the Village of Weedsport to provide and insure a sufficient
number of election inspectors at all.
This local law has been adopted pursuant to and in conformity
with Village Law § 3-300, Municipal Home Rule Law § 10,
and the New York State Constitution.
Village Law § 3-300 is hereby amended and superseded
in its application to the Village of Weedsport to provide that an
Election Inspector of the Village of Weedsport, at the time of his
or her appointment and throughout his or her term of office, need
not be an elector of the Village of Weedsport so long as he or she
is a resident of the County of Cayuga and State of New York.
