Whenever in this article the following terms are used, they
shall have the following meanings respectively ascribed to them in
this section:
CAMPUS
An area or areas of land owned by Board of Education of the
Homewood-Flossmoor Community High School, District 233, which are
near or contiguous to the Homewood-Flossmoor Community High School
and are used for the movement or parking of motor vehicles.
DISTRICT
Board of Education of the Homewood-Flossmoor Community High
School, District 233.
DRIVEWAY
That portion of the campus which is used for the movement
of motor vehicles.
PARKING AREA
That portion of the campus which is used for the parking
of motor vehicles.
It shall be unlawful to operate any motor vehicle at a speed
in excess of 15 miles per hour upon any area designated for the movement
or parking of motor vehicles.
The driver of a vehicle shall bring that vehicle to a complete
stop at the following locations, unless otherwise directed by a police
officer, in which event the directions of the police officer shall
be complied with:
A. At and in obedience to all stop signs;
B. Upon emerging from a parking area and immediately prior to driving
onto or across any sidewalk, street, driveway or access road.
The driver of a motor vehicle shall yield the right-of-way as
follows:
B. To approaching vehicles where entering a street, roadway or driveway.
The stopping, standing, or parking of any motor vehicle is prohibited
in the following locations:
A. Designated no parking zones;
E. Loading zones by persons other than school bus drivers and those
delivering or receiving packages to and from the school;
F. Within 25 feet of a fire hydrant, water standpipe, or fire exit door.

A. The stopping, standing or parking of any motor vehicle within a parking
area on school days between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. is
prohibited.
B. The prohibition in Subsection
A shall not apply to motor vehicles which have a decal or sticker, issued by the District, affixed to the rear window, but only when said vehicle is properly parked in a parking area, the designation of which corresponds with said decal or sticker.
C. Where parking areas are lined or striped, the parking of a motor
vehicle shall be totally within said lined or striped area.
No motor vehicle shall be operated so as to cause or produce
loud, raucous, excessive or unusual noises, by the playing of a radio,
or other sound-producing device, or by the racing of the motor, or
by the lack of a muffler or use of a muffler cut out, or by tire friction
upon rapid turning or weaving from standing or slow moving position
produced by sudden acceleration, or by continuous sound of a horn
or other noise or signal device.
The operating of go-karts, trail bikes, unlicensed motorcycles,
snowmobiles, or unlicensed motor-driven vehicles shall be prohibited
on the property of the District.
Any motor vehicles parked or abandoned during a snow storm,
flood, fire, or other public emergency, or found unattended in the
parking lots or otherwise on the school sites where they constitute
an obstruction to traffic, or where stopping, standing or parking
is prohibited, shall be removed and stored by a towing company designated
by the Village of Flossmoor, and payment of charges for such removal
and storage shall be paid to the designated towing company by the
owner or operator of such vehicle before said vehicle is released
by the Village of Flossmoor.
No person shall operate a motor vehicle within the campus in
such a manner as to constitute a hazard or endanger the safety and
convenience of the public or the users of campus.
No person shall willfully fail or refuse to comply with any
lawful order, signal or direction of a police officer employed by
the Village of Flossmoor.
No operator of any motor vehicle shall make a turn where prohibited
by a properly posted sign or direction of a police officer.
No operator of a motor vehicle shall leave such vehicle unattended
with the motor running.
