A. For the purpose of this Section, the "Major
Case Squad" shall mean any information, operation, organization or
cooperative action between any County, Governing Body, any Municipal
Government and the City of O'Fallon the purpose of which is intensive
professional investigation of certain individual crimes that may occur
in their general geographical area, and which is operated and activated
on request of a County Sheriff or the Police Chief of a political
subdivision wherein a crime has occurred.
B. The Officers of the City of O'Fallon Police
Department are authorized to participate in and cooperate with any
Law Enforcement Officers of jurisdictions in any Major Case Squad
operation or formation. The officers designated to act as the Major
Case Squad operation will be so designated by the Chief of Police
and when acting outside of the City of O'Fallon as a member of the
Major Case Squad operation shall be considered to be on active duty
the same as if acting within the boundaries of the City of O'Fallon.

A. The City Council does hereby authorize
the City Administrator to enter into bilateral contracts with other
municipalities in the County of St. Charles for the purpose of instituting
emergency police mutual assistance plans for major disorders and disasters.
B. Such contracts shall be bilateral and the
City of O'Fallon will reserve the right to terminate a contract with
another municipality on thirty (30) days notice without affecting
other contractual obligations it may have with other municipalities.
C. Said contract will be based upon the procedures
established by the Chief of Police, subject to ratification by the
City Council.
