[HISTORY: Adopted by the Mayor and Board of Trustees of the Village of Flossmoor as Ch. 8, Art. VII, of the 1964 Code. Amendments noted where applicable.]
The Seal of the Village shall be a circular disc with the words "Village of Flossmoor, Illinois" in the outer circle and the words "Seal" and "Incorporated in 1924" in the inner circle thereof.

An official insignia is hereby established for the Village, which may be used as an insignia, emblem or banner by Village officials on any Village publications, stationery, documents, flags or other properties, as they deem appropriate.
A. 
Lantern. The lantern is represented as a railroad lantern, reminiscent of the role played by the Illinois Central Railroad in the initial development and founding of the Village.
B. 
Flower. The flower is symbolic of the physical beauty of the Village.
C. 
Tree. The tree is symbolic of the strength of the Village, firmly rooted in its past, growing toward the future.
D. 
Key. This represents the key to the Village.
E. 
Cup. This represents the cup of charity and good will.
F. 
Color scheme.
(1) 
Lantern: grey or black frame with clear lenses.
(2) 
Flower: yellow with green.
(3) 
Tree: green with brown trunk and branches.
(4) 
Key: silver.
(5) 
Cup: gold.

The fiscal year for the Village shall begin on the first day of May of each year and end on the last day of April of the following year.

It shall be unlawful for anyone to injure, deface or interfere with any property belonging to the Village without proper authority from the Mayor and Board of Trustees.
Elections for municipal officers shall be held as provided by statute and at the time prescribed by statute.

A. 
Before entering upon the duties of their respective offices, all Village officers, except Trustees, shall execute a bond with security, to be approved by the corporate authorities. The bond shall be payable to the municipality in the following penal sums, conditioned upon the faithful performance of the duties of the office and the payment of all money received by such officer, according to the law and also the ordinances of the Village:

B. 
In the event an individual holds more than one of the above offices, the penal sum for his or her bond shall be the greater of the enumerated amounts.
C. 
The corporate authorities shall also obtain a surety bond or bonds for all other Village officers not specifically enumerated above and for any or all Village employees, in such penal sum or sums as may be directed by resolution from time to time, insuring against loss caused to the Village through the failure of an employee to perform faithfully his duties or to account properly for all monies and property received by virtue of his position or employment.
D. 
All bonds shall be filed with the Village Clerk, except the bond of the Clerk, which shall be filed with the Village Treasurer.
E. 
The cost of such bonds shall be paid by the Village.

Whenever a surety bond to indemnify the Village is required as a prerequisite to exercising the duties of any office or position, or to the issuance of a license or permit or for the exercise of any special privilege, the surety on such bond shall be a corporation licensed and authorized to do business in this state as a surety company, in the absence of specific provision to the contrary by ordinance.

A. 
Central Standard Time or Daylight Savings Time, whichever may be in effect form time to time under applicable federal and state statutes, shall be the official time for the transaction of Village business.
B. 
All clocks and other timepieces in or upon public buildings or other premises maintained by or at the expense of the Village shall be set and run at the official time prescribed by this section.
A. 
The Village Hall shall be open for business to the general public on the following days and hours, effective immediately: Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
B. 
The Village Hall shall be closed on the following days:
