A certain document, three (3) copies of which are on file in the office of the City Clerk of the City of St. Robert, being marked and designated as the International Residential Code, 2006 edition, including Appendix Chapters A, B, C, D, E, G, H, I and J, as published by the International Code Council, be and is hereby adopted as the Residential Code of the City of St. Robert, in the State of Missouri, for regulating and governing the construction, alteration, movement, enlargement, replacement, repair, equipment, location, removal and demolition of detached one- and two-family dwellings and multiple single-family dwellings (townhouses) not more than three (3) stories in height with separate means of egress as herein provided; providing for the issuance of permits and collection of fees therefore; and each and all of the regulations, provisions, penalties, conditions and terms of such Residential Code on file in the office of the City of St. Robert are hereby referred to, adopted and made a part hereof as if fully set out in this Chapter, with the additions, insertions, deletions and changes, if any, prescribed in Section 507.020 of this Chapter.

Nothing in this Article or in the Residential Code hereby adopted shall be construed to affect any suit or proceeding impending in any court, or any rights acquired, or liability incurred, or any cause or causes of action acquired or existing, under any act or ordinance hereby repealed as cited in Section 507.025 of this Chapter; nor shall any just or legal right or remedy of any character be lost, impaired or affected by this Chapter.

Ord. No. 604 of the City of St. Robert, entitled "An Ordinance Adopting the 1998 Edition of the International One- and Two-Family Dwelling Code, regulating and controlling the design, construction, quality of materials, erection, installation, alteration, repair, location, relocation, replacement, addition to, use or maintenance of building, mechanical, plumbing and electrical systems in residential buildings not more than three stories in height in the City of St. Robert; providing for the issuance of permits and collection of fees therefore; and all ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict therewith" and all other ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed.

Any person who shall violate a provision of this code or shall fail to comply with any of the requirements thereof or who shall erect, construct, alter or repair a building or structure in violation of an approved plan of or directive of the Code Official, or of a permit or certificate issued under the provision of this code, shall be guilty of a misdemeanor, punishable by a fine of not more than five hundred dollars ($500.00) or by imprisonment not exceeding ninety (90) days, or both such fine and imprisonment. Each day that a violation continues after due notice has been served shall be deemed a separate offense.
