A certain document, one (1) copy of which is on file in the office of the City Clerk of the City of Breckenridge Hills, Missouri, being marked and designated as "The International Property Maintenance Code, 2000" as published by the International Code Council, Inc., be and is hereby adopted as the "Property Maintenance Code of the City of Breckenridge Hills, Missouri" for the control of buildings and structures as herein provided; and each and all of the regulations, provisions, penalties, conditions and terms of said "International Property Maintenance Code" are hereby referred to, adopted and made a part hereof, as if fully set out in this Article.

The following Sections are hereby revised as follows:
Section PM-101.1 Insert: "City of Breckenridge Hills" (for name of jurisdiction).
Section PM-106.2 Insert: "One dollar ($1.00)" (for first (1st) dollar amount); "Five hundred dollars ($500.00)" (for second (2nd) dollar amount); and "ninety (90) days" (for number of days).
Section PM-304.12 Insert: "March 1" (for first (1st) date); and "November 30" (for second (2nd) date).
Section PM-602.2.1 Insert: "October 1" (for first (1st) date); and "April 30" (for second (2nd) date).
Section PM-602.3 Insert: "October 1" (for first (1st) date); and "April 30" (for second (2nd) date).

A. 
The following terms and words apply when used in this Section:
FIREPLACE CORD
A stack of wood sixteen (16) inches wide by eight (8) feet long by four (4) feet high.
FIREWOOD
Any wood or wood product used or intended to be used as heating fuel in a residence. Painted or treated wood shall not be considered firewood.
NEAT, SECURE STACK
A stack of firewood that is piled in a regular, orderly arrangement that is stable and reasonably resistant to collapse.
B. 
Except for firewood and construction materials necessary for on-site work, no wood or wood product shall be kept or stored upon residential premises. Firewood may be stored upon residential premises solely for use on the premises and not for resale. All firewood located upon residential premises shall be stored as follows:
1. 
The firewood shall be cut/split, prepared for use, and stored in neat, secure stacks.
2. 
The height of a woodpile over three (3) feet shall be no more than twice its width, but in no event shall the height exceed six (6) feet.
3. 
The firewood shall be stored a minimum of eight (8) inches off the ground and on a well supported, non-rotting base.
4. 
No more than two (2) fireplace cords shall be stored on any residential premises.
Any person who shall violate a provision of the code adopted in this Article or shall fail to comply with any of the requirements thereof or who shall erect, construct, alter or repair a building or structure in violation of an approved plan of or directive of the Code Official, or of a permit or certificate issued under the provision of this code, shall be guilty of an ordinance violation, punishable by a fine of not more than one thousand dollars ($1,000.00) or by imprisonment not exceeding three (3) months, or both such fine and imprisonment. Each day that a violation continues after due notice has been served shall be deemed a separate offense.
