The provisions of this Article shall not apply to any occupancy
in existence within the City at the time of the adoption of this ordinance
from which this Chapter is derived (April 6, 1970).

It shall be unlawful for any person to occupy or for any owner
or agent thereof to permit the occupation of any building or addition
thereto or part thereof for any purpose until a certificate of occupancy
has been issued by the Building Inspector.

It shall be unlawful for any person to knowingly make any false
statement in his/her application for an occupancy permit as to the
names, ages, relationship or number of occupants who will occupy the
premises.

The fee for the issuance of a certificate of occupancy required
by this Article shall be ten dollars ($10.00) for each dwelling unit
occupied.

The certificate of occupancy required by this Article, when
issued, shall state that the occupancy complies with all the provisions
of this Chapter.
