A basement habitable room or basement dwelling unit shall meet
the other provisions of this Chapter.

No room in any basement in an existing building shall be used for habitable purposes unless such room is being used for habitable purposes on April 6, 1970, and the provisions of this Part 6 of Article
II of Chapter
515 of this Code, are complied with.

The ceiling of any basement room used for habitable purposes
shall be at least seven (7) feet, six (6) inches high and shall be
at least three (3) feet, six (6) inches above the surface or ground
outside of or adjoining the room.

There shall be appurtenant to any basement room used for habitable purposes the use of a bathroom, properly vented to the outside air, in compliance with Section
515.210.

The required minimum window area for any room used for habitable
purposes in a basement shall be entirely above the finished elevation
of the adjoining ground.

The floor of any basement room used for habitable purposes shall
be waterproof and dampproof.

Any basement room used for habitable purposes shall be well
drained and dry.
