It shall be unlawful for any person to operate or cause to be operated any commercial vehicle upon any street within the City which has been posted with an official sign saying:
"BOULEVARD"
"NO TRUCKS"
"NO COMMERCIAL VEHICLES"
A. 
Width. No vehicle operated upon any street in the City shall have a width, including load, in excess of ninety-six (96) inches, except clearance lights, rearview mirrors or other accessories required or permitted by Federal or State law.
B. 
Height. No vehicle operated upon the interstate highway system or upon any route designated by the Chief Engineer of the State Highways and Transportation Department shall have a height, including load, in excess of fourteen (14) feet. On all other highways, no vehicle shall have a height, including load, in excess of thirteen and one-half (13½) feet, except that any vehicle or combination of vehicles transporting automobiles or other motor vehicles may have a height, including load, of not more than fourteen (14) feet.
C. 
Length. No motor vehicle operated upon any street in the City shall have a length in excess of that provided for in Section 304.170, RSMo.
D. 
Weight. It shall be unlawful for any person to drive or convey upon any street in the City any vehicle of any kind with a weight in excess of that provided for in Section 304.180, RSMo.
E. 
Permits. The Police Chief, with the approval of the Mayor, may issue permits for the operation of vehicles exceeding the width, height, length and weight limits prescribed in this Section. Such permits shall specify the terms and conditions under which such vehicles may be operated, and designate the streets over which such vehicle may be operated and the hours of the day between which such operation shall be permitted. Each applicant for such permit shall first pay to the City Clerk a fee of five dollars ($5.00), receipt for which shall be presented to the Police Chief before such permit is issued, but said special permit shall only be issued for a single trip or limited definite period.
F. 
Damages. Any person who drives any vehicle exceeding the width, height, length or weight limits prescribed in Subsections (A), (B), (C) and (D) of this Section, whether operating under the permit required by Subsection (E) of this Section or not, shall be liable for the amount of any damage such vehicle causes to any street, bridge, culvert, sewer or other public property and any such vehicle shall be subject to a lien for the full amount of such damage.

Whenever by reason of thawing or frost, or rains, or due to new construction, the streets are in a soft condition, the Chief of Police may reduce the maximum allowable weight on such streets and roads and shall post notices at convenient and public places along the road or roads. No person shall move or operate any vehicle weighing in excess of the limits prescribed upon streets so posted.

Any Police Officer of this City may arrest on sight or upon a warrant any person found violating any of the provisions of this Title. The Police Officers of this City may stop any vehicle as described herein traveling upon the public highways of this City for the purpose of determining whether or not such vehicle is loaded in excess of the provisions of this Article, and may require such truck to be removed to the nearest available scales for the purpose of weighing such truck and load.

Notwithstanding any provision herein contained, it shall be unlawful for any person to operate any vehicle which is loaded in such a manner that any part of the load is likely to fall upon or litter any street or alley.

No person, association, partnership or corporation shall park a truck in the City of California, Missouri, on any public street or alley for more than two (2) hours that has a load or part of a load on it and when the said vehicle is licensed by the State of Missouri with a gross weight of eighteen thousand (18,000) or more pounds. Any person, association, partnership, corporation or entity of any type which violates the provisions of this Section shall be fined not less than five dollars ($5.00) nor more than one hundred dollars ($100.00) per offense, and each day parking in violation of this Section shall constitute a separate offense.

A. 
No truck trailer or other detachable trailer that is towed by a motor vehicle shall be parked on a public street or alley in the City of California, Missouri, for a period of more than two (2) hours except in those areas that are designated for same.
B. 
Exception.
1. 
A semi-truck trailer may be parked along the east side on North East Street in the 500 block as an exception to Subsection (A). Said trailer may not be parked for any period of time exceeding forty-eight (48) continuous hours.
2. 
The purpose of this Subsection (C) is to allow the Feather Company located in said block to continue doing its normal business without interruption by ordinance. Provided however, the person or persons responsible for parking said trailer shall make the necessary provisions for protecting the pavement from the wheels and dollies by putting the appropriate blocks or other items of bracing under same to keep the surface from being damaged or indented from the vehicle.

A. 
It is provided that no truck exceeding two (2) tons shall be permitted to park anywhere on Versailles Street on the block between Oak and High Streets.
B. 
It is hereby ordered and directed that vehicular parking be restricted to two (2) hours on High Street between Buchanan and Versailles Streets between the hours of 7:00 A.M. and 5:00 P.M. on weekdays.

A. 
No vehicle licensed in excess of thirty thousand (30,000) pounds gross weight or exceeding thirty thousand (30,000) pounds gross weight shall travel on, through, over or upon certain streets, roadways, alleys, thoroughfares, or rights-of-way within the City of California, said streets, roadways, alleys, etc., as defined below:
1. 
Smith Street, west of that point where Smith Street intersects with Industrial Drive.
2. 
Main Street, east of that point where Main Street intersects with East Street.
3. 
Noas Street from that point where Noas Street intersects with Highway 87 North, to that point where Noas intersects with East Main Street.
4. 
Jefferson City Road, from that point where Jefferson City Road intersects with East Main Street to that point where Jefferson City Road intersects with Smith Street of the City of California.
B. 
The provisions of this Section shall not apply to the operation of any such truck in route to or from a location which can only be reached by traveling on the portion of the street, on which said truck traffic is prohibited. The Chief of Police may issue a special permit for vehicle travel on the street designated, but said special permit shall only be issued for a single trip or limited definite period.
C. 
Each violation of this Section shall be punishable pursuant to Section 100.040, and in addition thereto, or in lieu thereof, as may be deemed appropriate, a term of community service, as well as reimbursement or payment of damages for any repair, renovation or replacement of the street which was necessitated by the improper use or travel on the roadways.
