This article is hereby enacted for the protection, care and
control of public parks and playgrounds within the Township of Mount
Olive and to regulate the conduct of persons on or within such parks
and playgrounds using the facilities thereof.

As used in this article, the following terms shall have the
meanings indicated:
PARK
Includes all public parks, playground facilities, other recreational
areas including open space within the Township of Mount Olive, which
are owned by or under the control and supervision of the municipal
government.
PERSON
Any individual, company, corporation or other legal entity
having recognition under the laws of the State of New Jersey.

A. The Township Council of the Township of Mount Olive has adopted,
and incorporated by reference herein, the Mount Olive Township Departments
of Recreation and Parks, Buildings and Grounds Facility and Field
Use Rules and Policies (which contain general use rules and rules/policies
for groups) as a means to maintain the quality of the playing surfaces
on fields, and to provide for their safe, constructive and prolonged
use. Groups including sport teams with organized activities which
need to schedule certain field/facilities for specific dates will
need to submit a permit application with a permit agreement statement,
which requires the applicant to abide by the Facility and Field Use
Rules and Policies and will be used as a means to reserve use of Mount
Olive's facilities and fields, thereby improving the accessibility
and scheduling of facilities and fields.
B. The Township may close or restrict any field, pathway, or portion
or all of a park without notice for maintenance, construction or other
unforeseen event, upon the proper posting of signs.

No person shall kindle, build or maintain a fire within any
park, except in such areas as may be designated for that purpose.
Only charcoal may be used for cooking fires. No fire shall be unattended,
and any fire must be put out immediately after and evidence of the
fire removed.
No person shall leave in or throw, cast, lay, drop or discharge
into or upon or permit any agent, employee or person in his or her
charge to take into, carry through, leave in or throw, cast, lay,
drop or discharge into or upon any park any glass, wood, metal objects,
ashes, cinders, paper, dirt, sand, oil, stone, brush, stumps or any
other material, objects or rubbish of any kind or sick, diseased or
dead animals, organic refuse or other offensive matter, including,
without limitation, swill, brine, urine, offal, fecal matter, garbage
or rubbish. All rubbish, trash and garbage shall be placed in containers
provided for that purpose. All breakable containers are expressly
prohibited from all parks.
No person shall expose or offer for sale any foodstuffs, products,
articles or things, nor shall be station or place any stand, cart
or vehicle for the transportation, sale or display of any foodstuffs,
products, articles or things, except such persons as may be duly licensed
by the Township for the sale of commodities and foodstuffs in public
parks.

A. Except for unusual and unforeseen emergencies, parks shall be opened
to the public every day of the year from sunrise until sunset, except
for those facilities which are lighted or otherwise posted as being
open later than sunset of each day. From sunrise to 8:00 a.m. no excessive
noise may be generated in a park. No lighted facility shall be used
after 10:00 p.m. unless special authorization is received from the
Township.
B. Rest room facilities may be closed by the Township when weather conditions
so require without prior notice, provided that proper notices are
posted on said facilities indicating that they are closed.
C. Access to the Municipal Beach is available only for the season and
hours posted.

A. No person shall post, exhibit, or otherwise display any signs, posters,
or other advertising material in any park, except where authorized.
This subsection shall not apply to bulletin boards erected or maintained
by the Township or any of its departments or agencies. Seasonal sponsorship
signs are permitted, provided they comply with the rules, policies,
and guidelines of the Township of Mount Olive Recreation Department,
which said rules must be approved by the Township Council, which are
on file with the Township Clerk.
B. "Seasonal sponsorship signs" shall be defined as advertising signs
that shall be permitted to be displayed in the Township's parks
for the fall sports season and/or the spring/summer sports season.
C. Fall sports season shall begin on August 15 and end on November 15
of each year.
D. Spring/summer sports season shall begin on March 15 and end on August
14 of each year.

A. This article shall be enforced by employees of the Mount Olive Police
Department, the Recreation Division and the Building and Ground Division.
B. Any person, firm or corporation who violates any provision of this
article shall, upon conviction thereof, be punishable by one or more
of the following: by imprisonment for a term not exceeding 90 days
or by a fine not exceeding $1,000 or by a period of community service
not exceeding 90 days.

All motorized vehicles of any nature (including but not limited to ATVs, motorcycles, motorized carts, scooters, snowmobiles, etc.) are hereby prohibited in any park, except motorized vehicles which are specifically permitted in §
285-12 of this article and motorized scooters used by handicapped people.
Licensed motor vehicles permitted in certain areas. Licensed
motor vehicles are permitted to be operated only on roads and parking
areas specifically designated for such use.
The Administrator shall post appropriate signage to enforce
the provisions cited in this article.
