Township of Mount Olive, NJ Article I Moneys to be Paid; Definitions

§ 318-1 Authorization to set fees.

The fees for the water and sewer services to be rendered by the Mount Olive Township Water and Sewer Department shall be consistent with the provisions of this Part 1. The Department is hereby specifically authorized to prepare schedules of such sewer and water rates for posting, publication and/or distribution as it deems appropriate.

§ 318-2 Application of funds paid.

Any money received by the Township of Mount Olive in payment of either sewer or water bills shall be applied in the following manner:

A. Other arrears.

B. Sewer arrears.

C. Water arrears.

D. Current other charges.

E. Current sewer charges.

F. Current water charges.

§ 318-3 Definitions.

As used in this Part 1, the following terms shall have the meanings indicated:

MAIN

The transmission and distribution pipeline or lines and appurtenances owned by the Township and located in a public street or right-of-way.

SERVICE LINE

The line from the Township main to the curb or to the limit of the right-of-way and including the curb stop or valve at the end of such line.

TOWNSHIP ENGINEER

The Township Engineer, engineering consultant or their agent or representative.

WATER AND SEWER SUPERVISOR

The Supervisor of the Water and Sewer Department, as appointed by the Mayor of the Township of Mount Olive, or his authorized agent or representative.

WATER UTILITY MAINS IN PRIVATE PROPERTY

Privately constructed water mains and services which are turned over to and accepted by the Township to become part of the Township water system, together with a permanent right-of-way or public easement, so that the Township may enter upon the same to excavate, maintain and service said main.
