The use of any Township-owned lot which adjoins U.S. Highway
46 as a site from which to launch boats into Budd Lake is hereby prohibited.
As used in this article, the following terms shall have the
meanings indicated:
BOATS
Any craft designed to travel on or in water and shall specifically
include but not be limited to motorboats, sailboats and personal watercraft
commonly called "jet skis."
This article shall not apply to properties owned by the Township
on which are located boat docks designed for the storage and launching
of boats.

Any person, firm or corporation who violates any provision of
this article shall, upon conviction thereof, be punishable by one
or more of the following: by imprisonment for a term not exceeding
90 days or by a fine not exceeding $1,000 or by a period of community
service not exceeding 90 days.

As used in this article, the following terms shall have the
meanings indicated:
PERSONAL WATERCRAFT
In accordance with N.J. S.A. 12:7-62, as amended from time
to time, a power vessel defined as a Class "A" vessel by the United
States Coast Guard, and which:

A.
Is designed to be operated from a sitting, standing or kneeling
position;
B.
Is equipped with an internal combustion engine which powers
a water jet pump; and
C.
Cannot be operated in a manner so as to disengage the pump so
as to prevent the vessel from making headway.
POWER VESSEL
A vessel temporarily or permanently equipped with a motor,
and shall not be deemed to include a vessel propelled wholly by sails
or muscular power.
WATERSKIING
Anything with a rider being towed behind a power vessel by
means of a tow rope or line, except another vessel.
No person, company or corporation shall operate any power vessel
or motor on Budd Lake, unless such power vessel or motor shall have
been first registered with the State of New Jersey in accordance with
the statutes and regulations governing registration of such vessels.
The speed of power vessels shall at all times be regulated so
as to avoid danger or injury to all manner of craft, whether floating,
moored, anchored or under way, or to piers, wharfs, bulkheads, draw
spans or other waterfront construction, either directly or by the
effect of the wash or wave raised by such power vessel or through
its speed or otherwise.

Any person, firm or corporation who violates any provision of

This article shall take effect in accordance with the law, with the exception of §§
388-8 and
388-9C and
D, which shall not take effect until the Department of Environmental Protection shall adopt regulations consistent with those sections.
