All words used in this chapter shall have the meanings defined by the Multiple Residence Law of the State of New York.
The Chief Inspector of Buildings shall inspect or cause to be inspected annually or as may be necessary every multiple residence. Inspections may be made at any reasonable hour.
Every owner of a multiple residence shall cause to be tested by a competent person any sprinkler system installed to comply with the Multiple Residence Law; and proof of such satisfactory test be given in writing to the Chief Inspector of Buildings.
Every owner of a multiple residence shall keep in good repair and cause to be painted every two years a fire escape installed to comply with the Multiple Residence Law.
Every owner of a multiple residence shall be required to secure annually a certificate of compliance to be issued by the Chief Inspector of Buildings.
This chapter shall be enforced by the Building Department.

Any owner who, having obtained a certificate of occupancy or any equivalent thereof under § 302 of the Multiple Residence Law, causes a reviolation of said law to occur shall be subject to a warrant of arrest and further shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and subject to a Type E penalty as set forth in § 1-15 of the Village Code, all as provided by § 304 of said Multiple Residence Law.
