As used in this article, the following terms shall have the meanings indicated:
CURB LAWN
That portion of a Village street consisting of a strip of land lying along the side of the street between the travel lane (gutter, if present) and the sidewalk or the property line if there is no sidewalk, intended to be kept as a park-like space.
It shall be the duty of all owners or occupants of premises to maintain any curb lawn along the street in front of or adjacent to any such premises in a good and park-like condition, which shall, in all instances, be at least equal to the standard maintained throughout the neighborhood.

A person who violates any provision of this article is responsible for a municipal civil infraction, subject to payment of a civil fine as set forth in § 55-8. Repeat offenses under this article shall be subject to increased fines as set forth in § 55-8.
