The purpose of this chapter is to ensure safety procedures in the razing of building within Village limits.
This chapter is adopted as authorized under § 66.0413, Wis. Stats., and as authorized by the Browntown Village Board.
A. 
No person, his agent or servant, shall raze or cause to be razed any building or structure without first obtaining a permit, five days prior to said razing, from the Village Building Inspector.
B. 
The fee for a razing permit will be no less than $5, to be paid upon the receiving of the permit.
C. 
The provisions of § 66.0143, Wis. Stats., entitled "Razing buildings; excavations," are hereby adopted as though fully set forth herein. The Building Inspector, Health Officer, Chief of the Fire Department and Village Attorney are hereby designated as the officers to carry out the provisions hereof.
D. 
Prior to razing, sewer laterals must be capped by a licensed plumber and the ditch left open until inspected by a Browntown WWT operator.
E. 
Prior to razing, the water line must be shut off at the curb, and the meter and meter horn must be removed by a Browntown water operator.
F. 
The site of a razed structure must be restored to a safe site immediately, and to a dust-free and erosion-free condition within two weeks of the razing. The site must be filled with noncontaminated material, such as clean fill indigenous to the area.
Any person who violates any part of this chapter shall be subject to a forfeiture of no less than $100 and no more than $250.
