The purpose of this chapter shall be to preserve
the public peace and good order in the areas owned by the Town of
Lancaster and operated as public parks and to contribute to the safety
and enjoyment of the users of the parklands by regulating the hours
of use, the hours of use by organizations and for specialized purposes
and the use of motorized vehicles and by prohibiting certain activities
inimical to customary park recreation uses.

The violation of any of the provisions of §
249-2A through
G, inclusive, shall be considered an offense, and any person, upon being convicted of such offense shall be punishable by a fine of not more than $250 or by imprisonment for a term not exceeding 15 days, or both.
Should any section or provision of this chapter
be decided by any court to be unconstitutional or invalid, such decision
shall not affect the validity of the ordinance as a whole or any part
thereof other than the part so decided to be unconstitutional or invalid.
This chapter shall become effective immediately
after 10 days from date of publication and posting as provided by
statute.
