[Adopted 9-24-1951 (Ch. 24 of the 1966 Codification)]
No person shall sell, peddle, hawk or vend any
goods, wares or merchandise upon the streets or public places of the
Town of Lancaster, outside the Villages of Depew and Lancaster, by
going from house to house soliciting purchases or otherwise without
first registering with the Chief of Police of the Town of Lancaster.
Any person registering with the Chief of Police
shall give his name, address, age, kind of vehicle, if one is to be
used, and a statement of the character of the goods, wares or merchandise
to be sold or hawked and such other pertinent information as the Chief
of Police may require.
This chapter shall take effect 10 days after
publication hereof in the official newspaper of the Town of Lancaster
and the posting conspicuously, on the signboard maintained by the
Town Clerk and in at least three other public places in the Town,
of a copy thereof.
