A. 
Any motor vehicle, including but not limited to trucks, motor homes and tractor trailers, shall be prohibited from operating over certain Town roads, as set forth hereinafter, where said motor vehicle has a registered maximum gross weight in excess of 12,000 pounds (six tons), as shown on a motor vehicle registration of the State of New York or any other state or country:

The regulations established in this article shall not be construed to prevent the delivery or pickup of merchandise or other property along the highways from which such vehicles and combinations are otherwise excluded.
