The Town of Brookfield is committed, to the extent feasible,
to constructing and maintaining its buildings, facilities, and properties
in a safe, energy efficient, and ecologically sound manner. To that
end, there is hereby established a board known as the "Energy Advisory
Board."
The Energy Advisory Board shall consist of five members who
shall be appointed in accordance with the Town Charter.
Initially, two members shall be appointed for terms expiring
on the first Monday in February, 2021, and three members shall be
appointed for terms expiring on the first Monday in February, 2023.
Thereafter, appointments shall be for terms of four years. Initially,
the Chairman, Vice-Chairman and Secretary shall be appointed by the
Board of Selectmen. Thereafter, officers shall be elected pursuant
to Charter section C7-1.B.
The Energy Advisory Board shall advise the Board of Selectmen,
the Municipal Building Committee, and other boards and commissions,
when requested by the Board of Selectmen, concerning construction,
renovation, building and maintenance projects, including planning
and design, which advice shall include advice on achieving energy
efficiencies, long- and short-term energy safety and environmental
impacts, types or forms of energy, and appropriate uses and sources
of renewable energy. The Energy Advisory Board shall also give the
Board of Selectmen an annual report on issues of concern and energy
efficiencies.
There shall be no alternates for this five-member Board.
