The Township of Montague is committed to the safety of its employees
and the general public. Persons who are under the influence of alcohol
or drugs while working pose a serious safety and health risk to themselves,
to other employees, and to the general public.
The test administrator will notify the Personnel Director of
the results of the analysis immediately upon completion. The administrator
is to report as positive only those samples which have been confirmed
to be positive for the presence of illegal drugs or alcohol. The administrator
will follow up all immediate notifications with written reports. The
Personnel Director will notify the employee or potential employee
of the results of the analysis as soon as possible after notification
by the laboratory. The Personnel Director will provide a copy of the
laboratory report to the employee or potential employee if the employee
requests it.
Any employee who tests positive or refuses to provide a urine
sample will be subject to dismissal or other disciplinary action.
Any employee who tests positive may be required as a condition of
continued employment to participate in an approved substance abuse
rehabilitation program. Any potential employee who tests positive
or refuses to provide a urine sample will not be granted employment
by the Township of Montague.
