There are hereby created the offices of Assistant Tax Collector
and Deputy Tax Collector in and for the Borough of Neptune City.
Such persons who shall fill such positions shall be appointed
by the Mayor with the advice and consent of the Borough Council. In
order to qualify for such offices, each shall be a resident of the
Borough of Neptune City and shall maintain his/her residence within
the borough from and during the term of his/her office. The term of
the office of the Assistant Tax Collector and Deputy Tax Collector
shall each be for a period of one year, commencing from the first
day of January in the year of his/her appointment.
The Assistant Tax Collector and Deputy Tax Collector shall perform
such duties as are assigned from time to time by the Mayor and Council
and the Municipal Tax Collector, and, in addition, the Deputy Tax
Collector shall perform the duties assigned to the Assistant Tax Collector
in the absence of the Assistant Tax Collector.
