There is hereby created the office of the Superintendent of
Public Works in and for the Borough of Neptune City.
The Superintendent of Public Works shall be appointed by the
Mayor with the advice and consent of the Borough Council at the annual
reorganization meeting of the Governing Body. The initial appointment
to this position shall be made upon the effective date of this Article.
The term of office of the Superintendent of Public Works shall
be for a period of one year from the date of said appointment and
said advice and consent of the Borough Council.
The Superintendent of Public Works shall report to the Director of Public Works. In the absence of the Director of Public Works, the Superintendent of Public Works shall hold the duties and responsibilities of the Director of Public Works as described in the Code of the Borough of Neptune City Section 18-26.
The salary of the Superintendent of Public Works shall be fixed
by the annual Salary Ordinance of the Borough of Neptune City.
