The provisions of Chapter 341 of the Pamphlet Laws of New Jersey, 1948, also known as the Revised Statutes of New Jersey, 40:11-13.2 to 40:11-13.7, inclusive, shall be adopted, and the hours of employment of the uniformed members of the Police Department of the Borough of Neptune City shall not exceed eight consecutive hours in any one day, nor 40 hours in any one week; provided, however, that in case of an emergency, the officer, board or other official having charge or control of the Police Department or the police system shall have full authority to summon and keep on duty any and all such members during the period of emergency.
The aforesaid Act of the Legislature and this Article shall not be operative within this borough until this Article shall be approved by a majority of the legal voters of this borough voting thereon at the next general election on November 6, 1951. The Clerk of the Borough of Neptune City shall cause the proposition of the adoption thereof to be submitted to the legal voters of the Borough of Neptune City at the next general election on said date, and he shall cause the proposition to be printed on the official ballot in substantially the following form:

Also Known as Revised Statutes of New Jersey 40:11-13.2 to 40:11-13.7, Inclusive" passed by the Borough Council of the Borough of Neptune City, and providing that the hours of employment of the uniformed members of the Police Department of the Borough of Neptune City shall not exceed eight consecutive hours in any one day, nor 40 hours in any one week, except in case of emergency, be adopted?
This Article shall take effect on January 1, 1952, when passed and published according to law and if and when the majority of the legal voters of the Borough of Neptune City voting upon such proposition at the next general election on November 6, 1951, shall vote to adopt this Article.
