Pursuant to the Special Law Enforcement Officers' Act, N.J.S.A.
40A:14-146.8 et seq., the terms and requirements of which are incorporated
herein by reference, there is hereby created the position of special
law enforcement officer in and for the Borough of Neptune City.
The number of Class I members shall not exceed three. The number
of Class II members shall not exceed three.
No special law enforcement officer shall be employed by the
borough more than 20 hours per week, except during periods of emergency.

All issued uniforms, badges and equipment are borough property
and shall be immediately returned to the Chief of Police and/or Director
of Public Safety upon termination or other cessation of employment.
Compensation for each class of special law enforcement officers
shall be established through the Salary and Compensation Ordinance
of the Borough of Neptune City.
