[HISTORY: Adopted by the Board of Trustees of the Village of Canisteo 1-3-1989 by L.L. No. 2-1989. Amendments noted where applicable.]
The Village of Canisteo, Steuben County, New York, does hereby authorize the conduct of games of chance by authorized organizations upon obtaining a license therefor within the territorial limits of the Village of Canisteo, Steuben County, New York, in accordance with and subject to the provisions of Article 9-A of the General Municipal Law of the State of New York, this chapter and the provisions set forth by the New York State Racing and Wagering Board.[1]

The powers and duties set forth in Subdivision 1 of § 194 of the General Municipal Law for the control and supervision of games of chance and any other police control required under Article 9-A of said General Municipal Law shall be exercised by the chief law enforcement officer of the Village of Canisteo, New York.
This chapter shall take effect immediately following the adoption thereof in accordance with the provisions of the Municipal Home Rule Law of the State of New York and after it shall have been approved by a majority of the electors voting on a proposition submitted at a general or special election held within the Village of Canisteo who are qualified to vote for officers of said Village of Canisteo.[1]
