A.
No person shall consume or offer to another for consumption
any alcoholic beverage or have in his or her possession any open container
containing an alcoholic beverage:
(1)
While in or on any public or quasi-public place generally
open to or accessible by the general public, including but not limited
to any public street, lane or sidewalk, public parking lot, playground,
park and/or public building or in any public conveyance; or
(3)
While upon any private property not his own without
the express permission of the owner or other person having authority
to grant such permission.
B.
However, such prohibition shall not apply to any conveyance
or place specifically licensed for consumption of alcoholic beverages
in accordance with the provisions of N.J.S.A. 33:1-1 et seq.
Notwithstanding the provisions of § 83-8, the Township may issue permits for the possession or consumption of alcoholic beverages on public lands, parks and recreation areas at a designated time or times in connection with a special event, series of events or observance, as further described in § 290-10 of this Code.
