As used in this chapter, the following term shall have the meaning indicated:
Any equipment, device, apparatus or structure, or any part thereof,
which is installed, affixed, situated or constructed outside the primary residential
or commercial dwelling it serves, for the primary purpose of combustion of
fuel to produce heat, hot water or energy, and used as a component of a heating
system providing heat or hot water for any indoor or interior space. The term
"outdoor furnace" as used herein shall not include fire pits, outdoor fireplaces
or wood-fire barbeques.
No outdoor furnaces shall be constructed and/or operated within the
Township of Parsippany-Troy Hills. In that outdoor furnaces were never a permitted
use in any zone within the Township of Parsippany-Troy Hills, any and all
outdoor furnaces in existence at the time this chapter takes effect shall
be considered an unlawful use and/or structure and shall be immediately discontinued.
