All material proposed to be used in construction
shall have due examination and be subjected to such tests as are required
by the Village Manager or his duly designated representative. Any
materials used shall be the equal of samples examined or tested, and
if, after approved, the quality of the material changes so that is
does not conform to the original sample tested, the developer shall
be required to secure the necessary materials from other sources of
supply. The Village Manager or his duly designated representative
shall be supplied with a sample of all materials used, if required.
All cement used shall be portland cement of
known and approved brands. It shall meet with the requirements of
the Standard Specifications and Tests for Portland Cement adopted
by the American Society for Testing Materials.
The broken stone shall consist of clean, durable
sharp-angled fragments of rock of uniform quality throughout, free
from thin or elongated pieces, soft or disintegrated stone, dirt or
other objectionable features. Broken stone for top-course macadam
shall be trap rock.
Bituminous macadam shall follow state specifications
for Type 1A asphalt concrete, Item 51, Page 290, Public Works Specifications
of January 2, 1951.
Wherever materials are to be used for which
no specfications are provided, materials only of best grade and first
quality shall be used. The approval of the Village Manager or his
duly designated representative must be secured before the same are
incorporated in the work.
