As used in this article, the following definitions shall apply:
DOMESTIC ANIMALS
Any animal ordinarily living as a pet in or about the habitation of humans, including but not limited to dogs, cats, cage birds and tropical fish.

FOWL
Includes chickens, roosters, ducks, turkeys, geese and other poultry or domestic birds usually used for food purposes, but shall not include pigeons.
LIVESTOCK
Includes hogs, goats, cows, sheep, cattle, horses, ponies, pigs or similar animals.
WILD ANIMALS
All animals other than domestic animals, fowl and livestock.

No person, firm or corporation shall use any premises in the Village for or conduct thereon a livery stable or riding academy.
The slaughter of any animal within the confines of the Village is hereby prohibited, unless at a place duly authorized and designated by the Board of Trustees.[1]

No person, firm or corporation owning, harboring or possessing any animal shall allow it to disturb the comfort, peace or repose of any person in the vicinity by long, continued or frequent noise, nor shall any disagreeable or unusual odor be permitted to emanate from the premises so as to annoy, disturb, injure or endanger the comfort, repose, health, peace or safety of any person or the public.

No person, firm or corporation shall harbor, keep, possess or maintain within the Village limits any fowl, livestock, or wild animal without first obtaining a permit from the Zoning Board of Appeals of the Village pursuant to Article XV of Chapter 193 of the Village Code.

Any person, firm or corporation violating any of the provisions of this article shall be subject to a fine or penalty of not less than $50 and not more than $500.
