Safety zones shall be established at the following
locations within the incorporated limits of this Village, as follows:
A.Â
The Village of Lindenhurst is hereby authorized to
establish firesafety zones in the immediate vicinity of all municipal
firehouses for the purpose of facilitating ingress and egress of emergency
vehicles. All such zones shall be clearly posed, and it shall be illegal
for any vehicle, except for emergency vehicles, to park, stand or
stop in such posted zones.
B.Â
The Village of Lindenhurst is hereby authorized to
establish pedestrian safety zones across public roadways for the purpose
of enhancing and facilitating pedestrian traffic. All such zones shall
be clearly posted, and it shall be illegal for any vehicle except
for emergency vehicles, to park, stand or stop in such posted zones.
In addition, it shall be required of all motor vehicles to come to
a complete and full stop, prior to entering or crossing any safety
zone. No motor vehicle shall be permitted to proceed until the safety
zone is fully and completely free of any and all pedestrians.
