Whenever a term is used in this chapter which is defined in c. 291, P.L. 1975, such term is intended to save the meaning set forth in the definition of such term found in said statute, unless a contrary intention is clearly expressed from the context of this chapter.
All sections of the Land Subdivision Ordinance or Zoning Ordinance or any other ordinance of the Township of Saddle Brook which contain provisions contrary to the provisions of this chapter shall be and are hereby to the extent of such inconsistency repealed, except as hereinafter provided in § 118-34 of this article.
A. 
Pursuant to the provisions of c. 291, P.L. 1975, Section 81, entitled "Continuance," N.J.S.A. 40:55D-90b and N.J.S.A. 40:55D-92, the substantive provisions of the existing Land Subdivision Ordinances and Zoning Ordinances of the Township of Saddle Brook and the development regulations set forth therein shall continue in full force and effect and shall be read in conjunction with this chapter, and said Land Subdivision Ordinances and Zoning Ordinances are hereby adopted as reasonable interim ordinances of the Township of Saddle Brook for a period of one year from the date of the approval of this chapter and may be extended by ordinance for a period of one additional year for good cause or until such time as the Council exercises the authority delegated to it by the Municipal Land Use Act to regulate development within the community.

Specifically, the existing Zoning Ordinance entitled "An Ordinance Regulating and Restricting to Specified Districts, Buildings and Structures According to Their Construction and to the Nature and Extent of Their Use; Establishing Boundaries of Zones for Such Purposes and Providing Penalties for the Violation of Its Provisions Within the Township of Saddle River (now Saddle Brook), County of Bergen," adopted March 12, 1937, and known as Ordinance No. 221, with all amendatory and supplemental ordinances bearing Nos. 232 adopted March 31, 1939; 232A adopted March 31, 1939; 270 adopted January 25, 1946; 273 adopted April 12, 1946; 281 adopted October 25, 1946; 301 adopted May 28, 1948; 309 adopted January 28, 1949; 310 adopted February 11, 1949; 318 adopted May 27, 1949; 328 adopted February 10, 1950; 330 adopted April 28, 1950; 355 adopted April 11, 1952; 371 adopted December 26, 1952; 373 adopted March 23, 1953; 375 adopted March 30, 1953; 381 adopted May 25, 1953; 413 adopted September 12, 1955; 414 adopted September 12, 1955; 450 adopted December 23, 1957; 468 adopted December 16, 1958; 473 adopted April 22, 1959; 487 adopted May 17, 1960; 491 adopted August 2, 1960; 492 adopted August 2, 1960; 493 adopted August 2, 1960; 499 adopted September 20, 1960; 500 adopted September 20, 1960; 522 adopted December 19, 1961; 534 adopted December 11, 1962; 535 adopted December 18, 1962; 537 adopted February 26, 1963; 548 adopted December 10, 1963; 550 adopted December 26, 1963; 551 adopted February 25, 1964; 561 adopted September 22, 1964; 562 adopted October 13, 1964; 579 adopted November 9, 1965; 581 adopted December 28, 1965; 582 adopted December 28,1965; 586 adopted May 10, 1966; 589 adopted April 26, 1966: 611 adopted June 27, 1968; 621 adopted December 26, 1968; 631 adopted February 18, 1970; 635 adopted August 13, 1970; 658 adopted September 23, 1971; 659 adopted October 14, 1971; 681 adopted April 26, 1973; 704 adopted April 25, 1974; 705 adopted March 28, 1974; and 711 adopted September 12, 1974; and the Zoning Map originally dated April 1953, and revised and supplemented June 1, 1957, December 31, 1957, June 10, 1959 and December 1969; and the existing Land Subdivision Ordinance entitled "An Ordinance Establishing Rules, Regulations and Standards Governing the Subdivision of Land Within the Township of Saddle River (now Saddle Brook) Pursuant to the Authority Set Forth in Chapter 433 of the Laws of 1953, and Amendments and Supplements Thereto; Setting Forth the Procedure to be Followed by the Planning Board and the Governing Body in Applying and Administering These Rules, Regulations and Standards; and Providing Penalties for the Violation Thereof," adopted June 28, 1954, and known as Ordinance No. 397, with all amendatory and supplemental ordinances bearing Nos. 474 adopted April 22, 1959, and 630 adopted November 28, 1969, are all hereby readopted by reference as permitted by c. 115, P.L. 1976, approved November 16, 1976.
C. 
Three copies of the text or maps of the ordinance effectuating the readoption of the Zoning Ordinance and the Land Subdivision Ordinance are on file in the office of the Municipal Clerk and are available for public inspection until final action is taken on the ordinance effectuating this readoption, or if the proposed ordinance effecting this readoption is substantially altered prior to adoption, three copies of the amended ordinance effecting the readoption shall be kept on file for public inspection until final action is taken thereon in the manner prescribed in N.J.S.A. 40:49-2c.
All applications for development filed prior to the effective date of this Part 1 may be continued, but any appeals arising out of decisions made on any such application shall be governed by the provisions of Article IV of this Part 1.
This Part 1 shall be known and may be cited as the "Land Use Procedures Ordinance of the Township of Saddle Brook."
Immediately upon adoption of this Part 1, the Municipal Clerk shall file a copy of this Part 1 with the County Planning Board as required by law. The Clerk shall also file with said County Planning Board copies of all other ordinances of the municipality relating to land use, such as the Subdivision, Zoning and Site Plan Review Ordinances.
