There is hereby established in and for the Township
of South Hackensack an office of Zoning Enforcement Officer.
It shall be the duty and authority of the Zoning
Enforcement Officer to do as follows:

To examine all applications for certificates of zoning
compliance and for any permit or certificate required in connection
with the development, use or occupancy of premises within the Township,
together with all documents submitted with any such applications and,
when necessary, to inspect the premises to which each of those applications
applies.
C.
To examine any applications and plans submitted for
construction permits that may involve the application of either or
both the Zoning Chapter and/or the Subdivision and Land Development
Chapter.
D.
To inspect any buildings or premises as to which a
complaint has been made alleging violation of either or both the Zoning
Chapter and/or the Subdivision and Land Development Chapter, and,
for such purposes, the Zoning Enforcement Officer shall have the authority
to enter any building or premises in or upon which he or she has reasonable
basis to believe there exist such violation during the daytime hours
of any day to inspect the same to such extent as may be reasonably
necessary to determine the existence and extent of such violations
without the necessity of prior notice of the intention to do so unless
the owners or other persons lawfully in charge of the premises deny
such entry, in which event it shall be the duty and authority of the
Zoning Enforcement Officer to seek from the Municipal Court or other
court having jurisdiction a warrant allowing such inspection

To take such further action in respect to any violations
of either of those two chapters as may be authorized therein or as
may be otherwise authorized by law.
The Zoning Enforcement Officer shall be paid
such compensation as shall be prescribed by the Salary Ordinance of
this Township.
