A. No person shall engage in the business of auctioneering
in this municipality unless duly licensed as hereinafter provided.
B. The provisions of this section shall not apply to attorneys,
judicial sales or sales by a public official or by executors or administrators.
The Administrator shall grant licenses to any person desiring to carry
on the business or occupation of auctioneer within this municipality upon
payment of a fee of $5 per day or $25 per year, which annual license shall
expire on the 31st day of December of each year.
The Administrator may require such information as he deems necessary
prior to issuing a license hereunder, but the same information shall be required
of all applicants.
The Administrator shall have the power to reject any application where
he finds that the issuance of a license would be contrary to public health,
safety or welfare.
Any person who violates any provision of this chapter shall, upon conviction
thereof, be subject to a fine not to exceed $250 or to imprisonment for a
term not to exceed 15 days, or both.
