A. The fee to be charged for residential solid waste
collection, recycling and disposal shall be as set by the Board of
Trustees by official resolution. The fee may be changed to reflect
the increases or decreases in tipping fees at the disposal sites or
transfer stations, transportation charges, changes in collection costs
by either village crews or an approved contractor and any other appropriate
expense.
B. The fee will be collected either monthly or quarterly
and will be assessed against the owners of record of all one-, two-
and three-family residences. The fee shall be partially based on the
volume of waste generated. A base fee shall be charged for each apartment
or dwelling unit. The balance of the fee shall be based on a fee charged
for each sticker which is required to be placed on each bag of refuse
placed in the ninety-gallon waste wheeled container. It shall be the
responsibility of the owner of each premises in the village to bring
to the attention of the Village Administrator or his designee any
changes in the number of apartments or dwelling units on each premises
that would affect increases or decreases in the base fee charged.
C. The owner of any premises may request relief from
this fee if the property shall be vacated for three consecutive months
or more. Written requests shall be made on forms available from the
village offices.
