No person in a park shall:
(A) Willfully mark, deface, disfigure, injure, tamper with, displace
or remove any building, bridge, fence, table, bench, fireplace, railing,
paving or parking material, waterlines, utilities, signs, notices
or placards, monuments, stakes, posts or other boundary markers, structures,
equipment, facilities, or other public improvements and appurtenances
thereto.
(B) Fail to cooperate in maintaining washrooms and rest rooms in a neat
and sanitary condition. No person over the age of six (6) years shall
use the rest rooms and washrooms designated for the opposite sex,
unless physically disabled and requiring special accommodation.
(C) Dig and remove any beach sand, whether submerged or not, or any soil,
rock, stones, trees, shrubs or plants, downed timber or other wood
or material or make any excavation by tool, equipment, blasting or
other means or agency.
(D) Construct or erect any building or structure of any kind, whether permanent or temporary in character, or run or string any public utility into, upon or across such lands, except by Resolution of the Town Board or as provided in §
159-31(K).
(E) Build a bonfire, fire, or barbeque at any public park or beach other
than in designated picnic areas or pursuant to a permit issued by
the Director. No person shall bring a barbeque grill or similar device
into a park or beach without prior approval of the Director.
(F) Walk, stand, sit on, or utilize monuments, vases, fountains, railing,
fences, gun carriages or upon any other property not designated or
customarily used for such purposes.
(G) Erect, maintain, use or occupy on or in any park, beach or building
any tent, shelter or structure of any kind, except that tents or shelters
of the type where there is an unobstructed view into said tent, shelter
or structure from at least two (2) sides will be permitted outdoors.
In no event shall any guy wire, rope, extension or exterior brace
or support be connected or fastened from any such structure to any
other structure, tree, rock or object.
No person in a park shall:
(A) Damage, cut, carve, transplant or remove any tree plant, or vegetation,
or injure the bark or pick the flowers or seeds of any tree or plant.
Nor shall any person attach any rope, wire or other contrivance to
any tree or plant. A person shall not dig in or otherwise disturb
natural or maintained landscape areas or in any other way injure or
impair the natural beauty, appearance, or usefulness of any area.
(C) Tie or hitch a horse or other animal to any tree or plant.
No person in a park shall:
(A) Hunt, molest, harm, frighten, kill, trap, chase, tease, shoot or
throw an object at any animal or mammal; or remove or have in his
or her possession the young of any wild animal, or the eggs or nest
of any mammal.
(B) Give or offer or attempt to give to any animal or bird any food,
tobacco, alcohol, or other known noxious substances.
No person shall be admitted to any park who
is under the age of six (6) years unless accompanied by an adult who
shall assume full responsibility for the minor's safety and conduct.
No person in a park shall:
A. Throw, discharge or otherwise place or cause to be
placed in the waters of any fountain, pond, lake in or adjacent to
any park, or any tributary, stream, storm sewer or drain flowing into
such waters, any substance, matter or thing, liquid or solid.
B. Bring in or dump, deposit or leave any bottles, broken
glass, ashes, paper, boxes, cans, dirt, rubbish, waste, yard or construction
debris, garbage, trash, or other material. No such refuse or trash
shall be placed in any waters or left anywhere on park grounds, but
shall be placed in the proper receptacles where these are provided;
where receptacles are not provided, all such rubbish or waste shall
be carried away from the park by the person responsible for its presence
and properly disposed of elsewhere.
No person in a park shall:
A. Fail to
comply with all applicable provisions of the New York State Motor
Vehicle and Traffic Law, the rules and regulations of the Suffolk
County Police Department, and laws and regulations of the Town of
Huntington regarding equipment and the operation of vehicles.
B. Fail to
obey the lawful order or direction of a police officer, harbormaster,
and town official, including traffic officers and town employees,
authorized to direct traffic as needed in the parks, and on the adjacent
highways, streets and roads.
C. Fail to
observe all traffic signs indicating speed, direction, caution, yield,
stopping or parking, and all signs and devices posted to maintain
proper traffic control and safeguard life and property.
D. Ride or
drive a vehicle at a rate of speed exceeding ten (10) miles per hour,
except as may be otherwise designated by the Director.
E. Drive any
vehicle on any area except paved park roads which are open to the
public, parking areas or other areas specifically designated by the
Director.
F. Use or operate
an all-terrain vehicle, dirt bike, mini-bike, or other similar motorized
vehicle designed or equipped to operate outside of paved surfaces
of roadways.
G. Park a vehicle
in other than an established or designated parking area, and such
use shall be in accordance with the posted instructions or the instructions
of any authorized person or official on site.
H. Fail to
use a muffler adequate to deaden the sound of the engine in a vehicle.
I. Repair,
wash, wax or perform other maintenance on a vehicle.

(A) Beach parking sticker. Every resident of the Town
of Huntington shall be eligible to receive a resident beach parking
sticker for the season by submission of proof of residency and payment
of the requisite fee established by the Town Board, except that senior
citizens who have attained the age of sixty (60), active-duty military
and military veterans who were honorably discharged or released under
honorable circumstances from active duty in the armed forces of the
United States shall, upon submission of proof of residency and of
their status as a senior citizen or documentation showing active duty
or their status as honorably discharged or released under honorable
circumstances from active duty, receive a free beach parking sticker.
Residents and non-residents may be issued a daily pass for a fee in
an amount established by the Town Board.

The following shall apply to boat launching activities at the
Town of Huntington Mill Dam Ramps, except where expressly stated otherwise:
(A) Commercial boat launching businesses whose principal place of business
is situated in the Town of Huntington shall be issued an annual permit
to use the Mill Dam Ramps upon payment of a fee in an amount set by
the Town Board, and paid at the office of the Huntington Harbor Master.
(B) Only a resident who has been issued a beach parking permit may purchase
a seasonal launch permit to launch and remove a boat owned by the
permit holder at the Town's launching ramps. A resident who owns multiple
boats will need to purchase a launching sticker for each vessel. All
vehicles and vessels owned by residents purchasing beach parking permits
and ramp stickers must be registered to a location within the Town
of Huntington.
(C) Residents and non-residents who do not have a beach parking sticker
or launching sticker may be issued a daily pass for either privilege
upon payment of a fee in an amount established by the Town Board.

(A) No person shall hunt, trap or pursue wildlife at any time. No person shall use, carry or possess firearms of any description or air rifles, spring guns, paintball weapons, bow and arrows, slings or any other form of weapon potentially harmful to wildlife and dangerous to human safety, or any instrument that can be loaded with and fire blank cartridges, or any kind of trapping device. Shooting into park areas from beyond park boundaries is forbidden. This provision does not apply to a law enforcement officer acting in the course of his or her official duties, authorized personnel approved by the Director, or as set forth in §
109-3(F). The prohibitions described in §
159-4 shall remain in full force and effect.
