The regular members of the Board of Assessment Appeals, at the expiration of the term of any regular member, shall be appointed for the term of three years. The Council may appoint a maximum of three electors to serve as alternates, each for a term to coincide with the term of a regular member. In addition to those regular and alternate members of the Board of Assessment Appeals appointed pursuant to this section in accord with the provisions of the West Hartford Charter, Chapter IV, Section 2, the Town Council may appoint such additional members to the Board of Assessment Appeals as it shall deem necessary and appropriate to serve the needs of the Town pursuant to C.G.S. § 9-199(c) as that section may be recodified from time to time. Such additional members shall be appointed to serve for the term of one year.
