There is hereby created a Park Department. It
shall be the duty of the Park Department to have charge of, control,
operate, maintain and improve all parks, playgrounds, swimming pools
and other recreational facilities belonging to, or under the control
of, the City.
The head of the Park Department shall be the
Park Superintendent appointed by the City Manager for an indefinite
term. Subject to supervision and control by the City Manager, the
Park Superintendent shall have supervision and control of the Park
Department.
