The following job specifications are hereby adopted for the rank of
Sergeant in the Wilkinsburg Police Department:
A.
First line supervisor: under general direction from superiors,
supervises field and station activities of assigned subordinates.
B.
Inspects and trains subordinates to ensure conformance
with departmental standards and policies and initiates disciplinary action
when necessary to exact compliance to standards.
The following job specifications are hereby adopted for the rank of
Lieutenant in the Wilkinsburg Police Department:
A.
Supervises overall delivery of police service on assigned
shift; provides managerial direction preparing duty schedules, conducting
assigned internal investigations, and performs administrative functions regarding
overall departmental operations.
B.
Analyzes crime trends and allocates appropriate resources
to combat the same.
C.
Reviews disciplinary recommendations and recommends appropriate
corrective action.
D.
Provides direction to subordinates and reviews actions
and reports to ensure compliance with departmental policy.
