The numbers of all buildings erected within the limits of the
City shall correspond with the street numbers on the maps of the City
as filed in the office of the City Engineer.
It shall be the duty of all owners of buildings to have their
buildings numbered in conformity with the street numbers as the same
are designated on said City maps.
A.Â
In all cases where any owner of property shall erect any building
in the City, it shall be his duty to apply to the City Engineer for
the correct number of said building, as the same is indicated upon
the City maps.
B.Â
Upon the making of such application, the City Engineer shall furnish
to the applicant the correct number to designate his building. The
owner shall thereupon affix to his building the number so given.
C.Â
Each building to which a street number has been assigned shall have
such number displayed in a position easily observed and readable from
the public right-of-way. All numbers shall be in Arabic numbers at
least four inches high and one-half-inch stroke.

Unless otherwise provided in the chapter, penalties against persons violating the provisions of this chapter shall be imposed in accordance with the provisions of § 1-15.

The penalty provided for in Subsection A of this section, and the imposition thereof, shall not constitute a bar to, or be deemed in substitution of, the exercise of any right or power or remedy of the City provided for in this chapter or in any other provision of this Code applicable to the subject matter of this chapter.
