Any person violating any of the provisions of §
316-24 of Article
V of this chapter, entitled "Maximum speed limits," and §
316-25, entitled "Limitation of speed on school streets," shall, upon conviction, be punished by a fine of not more than $100 or by imprisonment for not more than 30 days, or by both such fine and imprisonment, for a first conviction; by a fine of not more than $200 or by imprisonment for not more than 90 days, or by both such fine and imprisonment, for a second conviction within 18 months; by a fine of not more than $500 or by imprisonment for not more than 180 days, or by both such fine and imprisonment, for a third or subsequent conviction within 18 months.
