It shall be the responsibility of the owner
of any building within the Township of Ridley that is equipped with
a fire alarm system to see that such alarm systems are kept in a state
of maintenance and repair so as to ensure that the system will not
fail to operate or operate in a defective manner.
A fire alarm system is defective when, without
the intervention of an outside agency, it gives off an alarm indicating
that there is a fire when no such fire has occurred. Where the alarm
is set off by an unintentional outside agency, which results in a
location response by a fire company, this shall be considered a defect
until such time as such measures are taken so as to protect the mechanism
from the unintentional outside agency.
