As used in this Article, the following terms
shall have the meanings indicated:
GARBAGE
Wastes resulting from the handling, preparation, cooking
and consumption of food and wastes resulting from the handling, storage
and sale of produce.
REFUSE
A.
Combustible trash, including but not limited
to paper cartons, boxes, barrels, wood, excelsior, tree branches,
yard trimmings, wood furniture and bedding.
B.
Noncombustible trash, including but not limited
to metals, tin cans, metal furniture, dirt, stone, glass, crockery
and other mineral waste.
C.
Street rubbish, including but not limited to
street sweepings, dirt, leaves, catch-basin dirt and contents of litter
receptacles.
D.
Wastes resulting from industrial processes and
manufacturing operations.
RUBBISH
Nonputrescible solid wastes consisting of both combustible
and noncombustible wastes, but not limited to stones, glass, sticks,
paper, rags, straw, wood, rocks, dirt, dust, sidewalk sweeping, turf,
sand, debris, junk, automobile bodies, framework, chassis, abandoned
automobiles, or any combination of the same, ashes, wrapping, cigarettes,
cardboard, tin cans, yard clippings, leaves, bedding, crockery and
similar materials.
Any vehicle which is to be used for the collection
and hauling of garbage and refuse must have a cover of such material
and size to prevent the garbage and refuse from being discharged,
scattered or blown while in transit.
No person maintaining or operating a commercial
establishment shall keep or store garbage in other than watertight
containers with tight-fitting covers.
No person maintaining or operating a commercial
establishment shall keep or store refuse in other than a fire-resistant
building or metal rodentproof and fire-resistant containers.
No person shall dump or cause to be dumped trash
within the Town limits.
