The owner of all houses, buildings and properties
used for human occupation, recreation, employment or other purposes
situated within the Town of Bridgeville is hereby required to install,
at his or her expense, suitable water facilities therein and to connect
such facilities directly with the proper public water system in accordance
with the provisions of this article within 60 days after date of official
notice to do so.

A. It shall be unlawful to construct or maintain any
private water system within the Town of Bridgeville except as provided
under this article or authorized by the Commissioners of Bridgeville.
B. Any privately maintained water system currently in
use may be permitted, but replacement of the system must adhere to
provisions covered under this article.
When a public water system is not made available
by the Town of Bridgeville, the building water system shall be connected
to a private water system complying with the requirements of state
and local regulatory agencies. No construction shall begin or connection
be made until permission has been obtained from the Town of Bridgeville
or its agents and state and local regulatory agencies.
At such time as a public water system shall
become available and within 60 days of official notice to do so, the
owner shall make direct connection with the public water system and
shall terminate use of the private water system.
No unauthorized person shall maliciously, willfully
or negligently break, damage, destroy, uncover, deface or tamper with
any structure, appurtenance or equipment which is a part of the waterworks.
No person shall allow to enter into the public
water system any solid, liquid or gaseous matter which shall have
a harmful effect on the life or health of any being consuming water
from the public water system.

Any person violating any provision of this chapter, upon conviction thereof, shall pay such fines as set out in Chapter
1, General Provisions, Article
II, Penalties.

The Town of Bridgeville or its agents shall
make monthly readings of meters or estimated readings of meters, when
necessary, or other devices used for measuring water usage. A meter
fee charge in addition to a monthly usage charge will be reviewed
on an annual basis by the Commissioners, and any and all adjustments
will be made according to the budget needs.
The Town of Bridgeville is empowered hereby
to create such agency as is necessary and such regulations as are
necessary for the administration of the public water system, so long
as they be consistent with the Charter of Incorporation of the Town
of Bridgeville and this article.
