Any and all trucks, other than those referred
to in N.J.S.A. 40:67-16.2, having a registered gross vehicle weight
in excess of five tons are hereby excluded from the following described
streets or parts of streets, except for the pickup and delivery of
materials on such streets:

Upon the adoption of this article and the approval of the Department of Transportation of the State of New Jersey, conspicuous markings of the section of the streets aforesaid, limiting trucks to not more than five tons of both vehicle and load, shall be erected in accordance with the Motor Vehicle Act of the State of New Jersey along that portion of the streets as described in § 252-16 hereof.
For violation of the terms of this article,
the penalties as prescribed by the Motor Vehicle Act of the State
of New Jersey may be imposed upon conviction.
This article shall take effect upon passage and publication as provided by law and upon approval in accordance with the provisions of § 252-17 hereof.[1]
