It shall be unlawful for any person, except in defense of person or property, to fire or discharge any gun or other firearm at any place within the City of Bradford. Nothing herein shall prohibit:
A. 
Police officers from discharging firearms in furtherance of their public duties;
B. 
Troops, either state or national, from discharging firearms under proper orders; or
C. 
Discharge of firearms on shooting ranges conforming to National Rifle Association standards, where such shooting range shall have been granted a permit by the City Council or its authorized representative, upon recommendation of the Chief of Police, and where shooting therein shall be under the supervision of school or City personnel.

Any person who shall violate any provision of this article commits a summary offense and, upon conviction, shall be sentenced to pay a fine of not more than $1,000 or to imprisonment for not more than 90 days, or both.
